A content designer is someone who creates copy to feature throughout a digital product or platform with an end goal of optimising the user experience. They also strategize overall tone of voice, continuity and brand messaging throughout the user experience.

Collaborated with product team, creative leads, and UX/UI designer to produce content for Browns Shoes' private shoe cleaning label, RESIST™. Wrote copy with a focus on SEO and tone of voice, highlighting and romanticizing product attributes.

Black To The Future’ on the wings of Sankofa
Collaborated with editors to commission an illustrator to represent the notions of Afrofuturism visually. This involved creating depictions of artists and members of the sub-culture in their superpowers—a significant aspect of the cultural aesthetic that combines science-fiction, history and fantasy to explore the Black experience, connecting those from the African diaspora with their forgotten ancestry.

Residents on Scarborough RT closing, Toronto Star
Used Adobe After Effects to create animated transcripts and graphics for audio, bringing it to life over imagery. While working for the Toronto Star, I transformed hotline conversations in the city’s Scarborough community into audiovisual ones. Pounding Fufu was a passion project that included a limited series podcast, essays, and more.

Created infographics, quote graphics, embedded timelines and gifs to add visual layers to extensive reporting on Little Jamaica for the Toronto Star. The graphics were used on social media and handpicked to be a part of several Twitter Moments.
